*12/31/08, Wednesday – Happy New Year! I actually went to work during the morning on this day since I didn’t get to have it off. I learned too late that my boss was okay with me working from home. I stayed there for a few hours and headed out around noon. The police was already around Times Square and they were setting up the barricades. I headed out of there before I got caught up in the middle of it all. Henry and I spent New Year’s Eve the same way we did last year, at Helen’s apartment gathering. It’s less crazy than the clubs and it was nice and quaint. I busted out my Guitar Hero again (on my PS2) and played til the countdown came. At least this way, we can’t miss the countdown like we did in the clubs. We counted down along with Ryan Seacrest and did a toast of champagne, cider and water. Afterwards, we played more Guitar Hero until the wee hours of the morning. We ended up staying over and sharing brunch with Helen and her friends as well.
